The Intercontinental Hotel, London
Refurbishment

Intercontinental flagship hotel on Hyde Park Corner had a dated and tired interior, which resulted in its market share slipping.

The Client Brief
J2 design were asked to strip out all the public areas creating new lounges and a Conference Centre on the Mezzanine, two new restaurants, one of which a destination restaurant with a named design that did not alienate its core customer base, who were more accustomed to a traditional interior.

The Design Approach
An entirely new look was created with a combination of classic styled architectural backdrops, contemporary FF&E and leather. Classic furniture was given a modern slant with the use of glass and acrylic materials.
