J2 Design’s iconic logo or hallmark has a long history. Joshua Judd, the Managing Director enjoys a heritage that includes India, Norway, Sweden and Japan. Joshua’s Japanese grandmother traced her lineage back to the 15th century and her family name of Chojima in Japanese text continues to be used as an icon for J2 Design.
In the early fifteen century Japanese script often used both Chinese and Japanese characters hence “Cho” meaning long in mandarin and “Jima” meaning Island in Japanese.
J2 Design feels privileged and humble to have such diverse ancestry and the Chojima icon has become not only his family symbol but also of the design company he founded.
